What We Did Today-Snapchat / by Dalton Ryals

THE WHAT: Today I focused on getting our Snapchat (WolvesTomorrow) off the ground. This account represents myself and a few other entrepreneurs that I work with (hence why it's not called Seize the Bacon). With some basic coverage from some popular accounts and a little love on GhostCodes, we managed to snag 600 viewers on our first day. 0 to 600 in twelve hours is pretty good progress, so I'll take it.

THE WHY: The point of this Snapchat account is to act as a funnel of sorts. It allows for a closer, more personal look at my day-to-day affairs, as well as a chance to grab an audience from a quickly growing social media platform. My current background in Snapchat is pretty heavy, I run a few accounts totally nearly 100k followers and with a little help from friends we reach well over 200k. This account is a chance to harness that audience towards the same goal as this blog; helping us all find success.

THE HOW: So how did we snag 600 followers in twelve hours? It really came down to a couple of basic methods. First; we created an awesome snapcode graphic that was sure to catch attention. This dramatically increased the likelihood of someone following us. Second; we created a quick GhostCodes account on their app. This is an awesome tool to have for any Snapchat and it takes about five minutes to set up. So far, we've gathered 166 Kudos(likes), not bad for no work. Third; we asked our friends to follow and give us some feedback. As always, your personal network can be your most powerful tool if you leverage it correctly. Fourth; we posted about it on ONE(and only one) of our Twitter accounts interacting with an audience of about 10k college students. This represents what I consider to be an average niche audience(I.E. what a lot of businesses are starting with).

I want to stress at this point that I haven't leveraged my existing Snapchat accounts or other social media accounts to boost it. I know that I can very easily grab several thousand followers that way, and I will, but I wanted to test what kind of reach we could establish through grassroots efforts. It tends to be that once you start adding traffic from large sources, things get very muddled and it's difficult to measure the success of smaller avenues.

So today I launched Day-1 of a 50-day video challenge, in which I will strive to offer meaningful content each day. As you all know, I'm a strong believer in sharing success and creating a roadmap. Essentially the video challenge will be a Vlog of sorts, only much more casual. So if you're looking for another way to connect and learn with me, go ahead and follow away!

So in summary:
