College Guest Speaker
Who doesn't love speaking at colleges?
I travel college campuses with the Sigma Chi fraternity's Journey's Workshop program giving speeches and discussions on programs such as Strategic Planning and Sexual Misconduct. These workshops and speeches often last over several days. This enables Greek Community members to effectively plan for their upcoming business year. The approach is two-pronged, create stronger leaders and then empower them to act against misconduct wherever they see it. The idea is to give the world a better generation of young men who can help provide for and enrich every aspect around them.
One in four women who attend college are a victim of sexual misconduct before they graduate. I'm proud to take a stand against rape on college campuses and say "No More." With an honest and open discussion, we remind our men that they can make a difference in the community around them. We reinforce the idea of accountability and integrity at all times.
This is easily the most rewarding thing I do, and at the very least has had a tremendous impact upon my own life.
A Breadth of Experience
I've been a guest speaker with eleven different Universities around the country including University of Utah, Purdue, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Austin Peay University, Pueblo Community College, and Southern Utah University.
An Audience That Matters
From audiences of twenty to several hundred, I've spoken to groups of all sizes and can effectively curate a meaningful discussion. I've also been able to build my community from these audiences, amassing over 12,000 Twitter followers interested in continuing the discussions that start here. This creates meaningful and lasting change.
Events and Awareness
Another blessing of this position is the ability to bring awareness of these causes at events such as the Huntsman Cancer Institute Gala or university campus events. Being able to speak about these issues outside the Greek Community brings awareness to both the problems and our efforts to actively combat them.
